The Trust is thrilled to present its new logo which encompasses our ethos to support, enable and grow our communities.
This eye-catching logo demonstrates the direction for the Trust and what is most important to us, which is the Beechwood and Craylands community.
The Trust’s Board is made up of 8 Directors, all of whom are keen to enhance the local communities of Beechwood and Craylands We have been profiling two of our Directors in each edition of our newsletter and this month we would like to introduce Grant Taylor and Jason Welsh:

In 2018, The Trust awarded several grants to local community and voluntary sector organisations and those projects are now starting to make a difference on Craylands and Beechwood Village, but we want to do more.
The Trust is now looking to commission projects, inviting proposals from local partners who might be able to help us deliver our aims. This year we are looking to focus upon initiatives that help to reduce the fear of crime and those that help to build community cohesion. Beechwood Boxercise Club started just over a year ago as a result of funding support from ‘Sport Inspired’, which helps volunteers to start their own sports club. Beechwood Boxercise quickly became popular, with over 30 young people attending weekly session. Sparring, punchbag exercises, skipping and fitness activities have encouraged both girls and boys to come along and learn the disciplines of boxing.
The young people expressed that they would like to take up the sport more seriously, which required more than just exercise. An application was made to BVCT and trustees have awarded funding to purchase a mobile boxing ring, equipment and extra gloves, so that training bouts can be held in a real boxing environment.
We are delighted to announce that we have commissioned Essex Boys and Girls Clubs (EBGC), to deliver an exciting programme over the next three years, which will provide a range of activities and new opportunities for young people, aged 11 – 25. Originally established in 1939, EBGC currently works with over 10,000 young people across 120 youth clubs located across Essex and East London
The club will create a pathway for young people to enable them to develop and grow, learn new skills, build confidence, and secure rewards, which will include trips to the Clubs activity centres located in High Row, Cumbria and Maes-y-lade, Wales.
Weekly activities will be run from the Beech Community Centre and be supported by two staff, who will motivate young people to work together to complete team tasks, build respect, trust, self confidence and self-esteem.
BVCT has awarded £54,499 to deliver this provision for the next three years, during which time it is anticipated that young leaders for the club will be developed and will be able to work to sustain ongoing activity for young people in the future.
